Wowowow Yonathan is back writing pointless articles! Kinda sorta, I’m really procrastinating from school, but I also figured I get this article out prior to the World Cup. As a soccer fan I’m beyond excited for the upcoming World Cup. But this World Cup has already garnered a multitude of negative press before the first game.

From the on-sent Qatar and FIFA Authorities (the body that regulates soccer) have been accused of bribery at the highest of levels, to ensure that Qatar hosts these games. Beyond the fiscal cost, the human cost has been unprecedented. Roughly 6,500 migrants from Singapore, Bangladesh, India, and Nepal, have died in Qatar building the infrastructure to support these games.

“If there was a minute of silence for every estimated death of a construction migrant worker, the first 44 matches of the tournament would played in total silence.”

There’s few that would find issue with condemning FIFA or Qatar for their actions in securing the bid or the construction of stadiums. The point of this article is to give my extremely important, and highly sought after opinion, on the Qatari approach to LGBTQ fans and guest.

The Qatari ambassador recently stated that “homosexuality damage[s] the mind” also stating that being gay was “haram.” I’m no expert but I would also think the handling of migrant deaths, and bribing…
